Let battle begin for EU journalism prize (19th January 2010)

Images capture despair of people of Gaza (13th Jan, 2010)

Khalil Shaheen, who works with the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights, in front of the bombed ruins of a house in Gaza. Khalil travelled to Ireland via the Raffah crossing in Egypt, where he was held in detention for four days before he was allowed to travel onto Ireland.

A journalist lying dead in the street seconds after a bomb blast, his ‘Press’ card fastened to his jacket; people trying to recycle cement from the ruins of their homes; children playing in the rubble of bombed-out schools – these are just some of the powerful photographs on display at a new exhibition in Dublin’s Temple Bar this month.
